Owner & Landscape Architect
Welcome to my short Bio! I’ve been connected to the landscape industry since childhood. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, I started a lawn maintenance business at the age of 10 and hired my first employees at age 17. The first company named “Swenmow” operated for twelve years — all the way through college. After graduating from Purdue University in Landscape Architecture, I successfully sold the business to an employee, and the operation is still running today — under a different management name.
After learning the landscape maintenance business, I was eager to exercise a new skillset in landscape architecture. Since 2006 I’ve had the privilege to work with some great mentors, employers, and wonderful clients! Prior work at Design Build firms like Hoerr Schaudt, Rosborough Partners, and the Bruce Company are a few organizations that have influenced my journey.
I love entrepreneurship, the profession of landscape architecture and networking with contractors and trades to build projects. Our company name Driftless Landscape LLC is inspired by the driftless region, which is truly unique to the Midwest – the driftless offers so many beautiful views, vistas and natural occurring elements to design with. There are many awesome properties perched on the hills or tucked away in the valleys of the driftless – and I believe there are many future projects just waiting to be discovered!
Wisconsin is home to our family and small-town living, which we thoroughly enjoy. I look forward to meeting people who share the same appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us and designing and building truly extraordinary landscapes.
